Google releases Android 1.5 Cupcake SDK for developers

The Android 1.5 SDK features programming interfaces for things like virtual keyboards, home screen widgets, speech recognition, and live folders. There is also an updated version of the plugin for the Eclipse Java programming environment.

Starting with this version of the SDK, multiple versions of the Android OS will be supported. The new pre-release, for example, allows developers to write apps for both Android 1.1 and the new Android 1.5 platforms. Developers can download the Android 1.5 SDK here.
