Netbooks are hot this year and will continue to be one of the most popular categories in the computer market going into 2009. MSI has one of the best netbooks around with its Wind U110 and it has now released some specs on the follow up U115 netbook.

The U115 features the same 10-inch screen and what appears to be the same keyboard as the U110. The difference comes in with the hybrid design of the U115 and some of the other specs. The U115 has a SSD for the OS that features 16GB of storage.
An internal 160GB HDD takes care of storage for programs and other data. Intel’s new Atom Z530 CPU running at 1.6GHz is used in the machine and the Intel Poulsbo US15W chipset is integrated. Up to 2GB of RAM is supported by the machine and it runs Windows XP Home. The big selling point is the SSD + HDD setup, which allows the device to operate using the solid state drive while writing files to the hard drive, resulting in much longer battery life (MSI previously claimed up to ten hours, but the official press release just says "super long" battery life. Pricing is unknown at this time, but expect it to be more than the U110.
