Intel Corporation Egypt previews dynamic changes for 2009 in the mobility market, driving the mobile internet through mobile workstations, thin and light notebooks, mobile internet devices, wireless networking components, and services.
##CONTINUE##Intel believes 2009 will see a focus on mobile internet due to the increasingly pervasive nature of the internet and the trends accelerating the growth of mobile internet such as social networking, said a top company official.
'Intel also believes that mobile internet devices (MID) will show long-term growth,' said Dr. Khaled Elamrawi, Intel’s general manager of Egypt, Levant and North Africa.
'With expected MID worldwide shipment to reach in excess of 130 million unites by 2013, such handheld devices based on the Intel Atom will provide a quantum leap in capability in comparison to other existing handhelds,' he added.
'Due to this up and coming trend, Intel expects the Atom processor to play a pivotal role in the evolution of high performance small portable devices, which will allow people to take the real Internet experience with them in their pocket by offering incomparable access to the entire Internet,' Elamrawi explained.
In light of current market conditions, Intel is acutely aware of the importance of staying ahead of the market by providing the latest technology.
“At Intel, we believe that investing in research and development (R&D) will play an instrumental role in staying ahead of the game and in providing consumers with solutions that enhance their daily lives and provide up-leveled business efficiencies,” he opined.
In a knowledge-based society, digital technology is a gateway to economic and social progress. Focused on developing communities, the Intel World Ahead Program aims to enhance lives by accelerating access to uncompromised technology for everyone.
Additionally, Intel views the adoption of WiMAX happening on a global scale which will provide two great opportunities; affordable Internet for more people thereby bridging the digital divide and enabling the real mobile Internet experience.
According to Elamrawi, WiMAX’s significant role will affect both emerging and mature markets.
He pointed out that Intel would also build new businesses by engaging in fresh educational initiatives.
'For example, Intel Egypt will continue to collaborate with the government, organisations, community groups and other technology leaders to create the World Ahead, a place that empowers the next billion people through access to technologies, connections to the world via high-speed technologies, education that prepares Egyptians for the future and content and services that improve lives.
Intel is well positioned for the future. For the past 40 years, the chip giant has revolutionized the worldwide technology space, improving the lives of billions of people.
Furthermore, Intel will continue its ongoing commitment in providing the ultimate performance from their latest technological innovations to their corporate responsibility initiatives.
